If you decide to file a formal Title IX complaint, the Title IX Coordinator will offer supportive measures. When a formal complaint is filed confidentiality limitations exist because the identity of the Complainant and details of the case will be placed in a written notice of allegation that will be provided to both complaining and responding parties. To file a formal complaint, you may do so in person, by mail, by telephone, or by e-mail using the Title IX Coordinator’s contact information listed above, at any time (including non-business hours).

If you are making a Title IX formal complaint by e-mail or mail, please be sure to include your physical or digital signature.

What to Expect as a Student or Employee

When you contact CUSM’s Title IX Coordinator, a virtual meeting will be scheduled to discuss the behavior that you have undergone or that you are concerned about. Options and resources will be provided to you and explained.

Although contacting the Title IX Coordinator is not considered strictly Confidential, the Title IX Coordinator will ensure to keep information on a strict need-to-know basis. The Title IX Coordinator will explain the informal versus formal process and will take into account your preference to proceed with a formal complaint. Please note, if you decide to not move forward with filing a formal complaint, you may choose to do so at a later time. Also, in limited cases, the Title IX Coordinator may decide to proceed with a formal process on behalf of CUSM in situations where the safety of the CUSM community is in jeopardy. Overall, the Title IX Coordinator will work toward ensuring the well-being of all students and employees with resources and supportive measures, and when a Title IX formal complaint is filed will ensure the matter is equitably resolved.

The Title IX Coordinator is available to provide information and consultation about CUSM’s Title IX policies and procedures regarding sexual harassment and sexual misconduct for students, faculty, staff, supervisors, administrators, and others who need information about their responsibilities to address sexual harassment and sexual misconduct.

Note: Any person who retaliates against a person who has filed a Title IX complaint or cooperated in a Title IX investigation is in violation of University policy and will be subject to disciplinary action.
